OK Corral is a Romanian electronic music project established by Vania, Thornado & Midy. However, only Vania & Thornado appear live, Midy being much more present in the studio work.  They also manage their own record label, groove ++ recordings.

The first Vania & Midy EP, Friction Addiction EP, was also the first release of groove++ recordings and was supported by Magda, Marco G, Christian Fischer, Fergie and others.  The first EP under the alias of OK Corral was Anakin EP, an EP containing two tracks, Anakin and Sandscape.  Anakin is the musical story of the death of Anakin Skywalker and the birth of Darth Vader, while Sandscape is a musical landscape  of the endless deserts of Tatooine. The Anakin EP received a lot of support, especially for the track Sandscape, which was played by artists like Christian Smith, Paul Nazca, Taho and Laurent Garnier and was featured on 2008’s Laurent Garnier’s mix on Resident Advisor (RA 107).

A new Vania & Midy EP, Rebirth EP, was released under a new imprint from Baroque Records, Blaufin Records (fin001). Rebirth contains two tracks, Rebirth and Cubics, which were supported by artists like Lutzenkirchen, Eryc Prydz, Steve Lawler and Nick Warren and Cubics was voted number one for January 2008 on Ferry Corsten’s Countdown.

The second EP as OK Corral was Planetarium EP, released in June 2008 on Craft Music (Craft 034). This EP contains three tracks, Concerto, Planetarium and Eartrain and was supported by a great number of artists like Christian Smith, Lee Burridge, Popof, D Ramirez, Marco V, Joseph Capriati, Terry Lee Brown Jr, Noir, Mateo Murphy, JDS, Audiojack, Mario Piu, Chloe, Nick Warren, Axwell, Slam and many others.

In summer, during the Olympic Games in China, Great Stuff has compiled the Great Summer Games Stuff Compilation, with artists like Etienne de Crecy for France, Lutzenkirchen for Germany, Tomcraft for Bavaria, Rui da Silva for Portugal, Butch for Turkey, Fergie for Ireland, in total 24 artists representing their country. OK Corral were chosen to represent Romania for this musical competition. Here are some artists that have singled out OK Corral’s Romania out of the 24 tracks: Etienne De Crécy: OK Corral #1; Stephan Hinz: My absolute favourite is OK Corral’s Romania track; Lukas Fritscher: OK Corral “Romania” & Ramon Tapia “Belgium”; Mason: Romania wins for me!

Aside from the OK Corral productions, Vania & Thornado are also very experienced and versatile DJs, being two of Romania’s top DJs. They have played with and opened up for Above & Beyond, Adam Beyer, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, Chistian Fischer, Fatboy Slim, Fergie, Hernan Cattaneo, Hybrid, James Holden, Johannes Heil, Jody Wisternoff (of Way Out West), Josh Wink, Kenny Larkin, Lutzenkirchen, Michel de Hey, Ozgur Can, Paul van Dyk, The Filterheadz, The MFA, Tiesto, Timo Maas, Umek and are most proud of opening for Jeff Mills’ first DJ set in Romania, for Juan Atkins’ first DJ set in Romania, for Fatboy’s Slim’s first party in Romania and especially for the first Depeche Mode concert in Romania.

Their style as DJs is very eclectic and they love to adjust to all the details that make up a party. Their unique choice of music and also the very special way of playing back to back makes OK Corral one of the most spectacular DJ acts Romania has to offer.

Harvey Three Face is a promotional made out of three CDs, with three different musical sides, that makes OK Corral the most eclectic and diverse DJ group in Romania.

Organic side is more house oriented, very suitable for clubs that prefer the “commercial” side of electronic music.

Electric Side is the electro piece of this unique mix, especially made for those who are still hung up with the `80z.

Mechanic side is the missing piece in the puzzle made by OK Corral. Mechanic side presents the new style of techno that keeps the old school sound, but does not ignore the new wave of producers from 2008.

At a young age Carlos moved from Spain to London in the 1980’s to discover Soul, Electro and witnessed the birth of House music by listening to local pirate stations such as LWR and Solar FM and soon became a regular DJ at underground raves back in 1989. Carlos has since travelled back and forth between Spain, Europe and the UK, from djing house sounds in the notorious summer of Love in 1989, through to residencies in Brasil, London and Ibiza such as Rulin’ at Ministry Of Sound (5 Years), Fiction at The Cross (London) and the legendary Turnmills in London among many more….

Discography/ Productions and Future Projects

In 2001 Carlos teamed up with Javi De Colors (Stereo records) an released his debut single Sun Sacrifice, following up in 2002 with a single titled “Dance Floor Politics” for Tempo Music (Spain). In 2005 he released “La Ligia” on DTRAX (DTPM’s sister Label based in London) with heavy support and radio play from the likes of Tom Stephan and Sandy Rivera. Next followed “The Gringo E.P” containing two stonking peak timers “El Gringo” and “Ghetto Sparks” which are out now on SP Recordings. Next followed “Raindancer” and “Searching for Jack” two chunky underground house groovers which had back up from none other than the “Godfather of House” Marshall Jefferson. Remixes of “Raindancer’ by Richard Belsom (Cubism) will accompany the Original version and ‘El Gringo” has had the remix treatment too by Lunacy Sound Division’s Mark Gwinnet. Carlos also has shown his diversity and experience in the dance field with the recent “Taboo Groove” a deep house track out on Manuscript Recordings (Ukraine) a new deep house label with other releases by Joshua Collins and DJ Linus. “Taboo Groove” reached Number 4 in the Beatport Top 100 Deep House chart in Feb 2009. A remix of Natasha Black’s “Get With You” titled “Carlos Francisco’s Dark room Dub” is also out now on Cubism.

Carlos has recently worked with Stephan Remmler (Trio, Da Da Da- 1982) getting together a official remix of Trio’s famous 80’s track “Da Da Da” which was number one in more than 30 countries. The package includes a selection of sub-genre mixes from very important artists like Coco Silco and Lunacy Sound Division and is available now on SP Recordings. Solar Plexus and Butt Monkey were next on the list toping the Stompy sales chart and more currently Enter Badman with another fantastic remix by Coco Silco.

Born and raised in Miami, FL, DJ/Producer Alej Varez (a.k.a Alex Alvarez) grew up on the 80’s Miami sound – Disco, Hi Energy, and Freestyle.Growing up his attention was always focused on music, especially Electronic Dance Music. In 2000 he audition for the band 5th Vision managed and produced by Joe Granda of Angel Eyes Music and began his musical career. During his “5th Vision” years, Varez had the opportunity to work alongside producers Mike Mucci, Albert Camara, Oba “Frank” Lords, and Guiseppe D. He spent many nights in the studio watching them work on original and remixed tracks. The producers allowed him to keep a pair of discarded Technic 1200’s and a Numark mixer. He spent countless hours in his room playing music and teaching himself how to mix.

Varez’s officially ventured into the DJ business in 2001 when he met DJ Chucky Brown. Chucky Brown mentored him and showed him the ins and outs of the club industry. Varez was the youngest DJ in South Beach at the time holding residencies at the age of 17, before being legally allowed to enter the venue as a patron. His style was refreshing and catered to audiences with true musical taste. He gained a reputation for blending genres and blurring the lines between Pop, Rock, Latin, Hip Hop and EDM.

Alej Varez has had the opportunity to DJ alongside world reknown DJ’s and producers such as: Paul Van Dyke, Kimball Collins, Jason Dunn, Willie Morales, Crystal Method. Miss Issie Nixon is at the moment one of the key pieces of the “Ibizan” scene. As a native of the island Ibiza, she has lived and breathed the music and the nightlife from the very beginning.
In a scene overloaded with International dj’s, the local dj’s are acquiringa greater protagonism in the cabins of Ibiza, and certainly Issie is one of these names with greater force in the last two seasons. Regular at the opening and closing parties and the anniversary of Space, with weekly residences in parties like Soldiers @ Privilege or Goa @ Space and constant visits to Pacha and El Divino or through the weekly radio show with Ibiza Global,Issie is present in the day by day leisure of Ibiza.
This constant work has served as a showcase to the outside world and in the last years she has played in places such as Dreamers Marbella, Douala Stuttgart and Cocoon in Frankfurt, not to mention many other clubs and events.
Always a creative mind, she occupies her time producing her own event Kinky Doll with a philosophy that has been seen in many places in Ibiza and mainland Spain. Launching her first productions through Mona Records, the same as with her sets, imprinting a musical character of underground with brush strokes of groove and joy.

Biography:

Talented and unique….. Evren Ulusoy is a 29 year-old turkish producer and DJ, his musical tastes are quite broad. In the 90’s,  Autechre & Warp and other electronic inspired him and encouraged him to buy a computer to eventually start making his own music.  As he was introduced to nightlife, Evren’s focus became dance music. Influenced by Pink Floyd’s Back Catalogue,  Evren stands out as a producer and a DJ. He seeks innovation and diversification for the sake of the electronic music scene in Turkey. With a musical presence and maturity beyond their experience Audiojack are arguably one of the most talented and exciting electronic music acts to develop in recent years.

Signed to Ralph Lawson’s 20:20 Vision Recordings for their original productions and with remixes and releases under their belt for labels such as Get Physical, Renaissance, Cr2, Leftroom and Great Stuff, Audiojack have proved a unique ability to produce credible underground music whilst appealing to a wide enough audience to surpass the sales and airplay of many of their peers.

Their music has gathered an enviable and varied list of international DJs who support their sound including Groove Armada, Sasha, Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Paul Woolford, Lee Burridge, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, Timo Maas, Luciano, Sven Väth, Steve Lawler, Craig Richards, Meat Katie, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and Danny Tenaglia.

DJ Jacoby has been a professional DJ for over 20 years and a producer for 4. His musical taste heavily changed over the years. He first enjoyed listening to Soul and Pop in the 70’s but eventually progressed toward the funk and house scene. Very inspired, DJ Jacoby started DJing at a pub in his village. Before he knew it, he found himself DJing in one of Zaragoza’s biggest clubs.

Between the 80s and 90s, DJ Jacoby held a residency in one of Zaragoza’s most important clubs. He played with Roger Sanchez, Silicone Soul, DJ Disciple and many more.

In 2003, Jacoby devoted much of time toward the production. With the help of his friends, Jacoby released 7 tracks with important labels such as  The Factory (Spain), Go Deva (Italy), Disco Masaka (Germany), Cacwalk (Germany).

Jacoby was quickly rewarded and was offered the opportunity to participate in the World Music Conference booking him in Miami, Venezuela, Peru, and San Fransisco).

Today, Jacoby resides in Mallorca where he produces with Carlos Legaz and Spider. His next destination is Miami in October…

An independent artist with an underground gravitational pull MEDNAS has already made a name for himself.  After a residency @ EGO Club in Madrid, Mednas got the most wanted residency by any dj in the world: the WE LOVE MORROCCO SESSIONS at PACHA MARRAKECH the biggest club in Africa. Now he focused his talent to production in studios to bring up his own touch in the electronic scene.  Further performances in France, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, Argentina, Bolivia and other Latin American Countries have been scheduled where his beats and rhythms placate the audiences’ hunger for new and unconventional sounds.

Born in Miami, FL, Dynamik Dave has been DJing and producing House music for a few years now. Growing up with an insatiable thirst for top-notch beats, Dave got into electronic music to eventually be the number one house music producer in the world. –A tough task indeed, but he has had an excellent start… To say the least.
